BERGMANN: New generation of spreaders BERGMANN XPERT
At Agritechnica & AGRIBEX 2025, BERGMANN will introduce the new generation of spreaders from the BERGMANN XPERT series. On display will be the BERGMANN XPERT 4.24, a tandem model with hydraulic chassis. BERGMANN already presented a functional model from the new XPERT spreader series at Agritechnica 2023 to gauge the initial reactions of visitors to the stand.
Development goals
At the start of the new development, general development goals were set, which are now visible in the models of the new XPERT series:
- Increase in performance
- Optimization of work quality
- Increased wear and corrosion resistance
- Reduction of cleaning work, prevention of dirt deposits
- Simplification of maintenance and servicing
- Increased comfort and safety
- EU type approval for category R (transport vehicles – road transport possible)
- Modern, sleek design
- Modularity for the entire series
How these goals were achieved is explained below using a few examples.
Increased impact force
This goal was achieved through, among other things, higher loading volumes, increasing the milling passes to 1.55 m, 1.70 m, and 1.90 m for greater capacity, and practical loading space lengths and loading heights for faster and more even loading. In addition, the patented V-Spread wide spreading system with a disc diameter of 1100 mm for larger working widths and fewer tramlines is available as an option on all XPERT models.
Optimization of work quality
The material discharge point on the spreading discs has been further optimized for an even more uniform spreading pattern and optimal cross-distribution.
The diameters of the spreading discs on the standard T-Spread disc spreader have been retained depending on the model (models with a diameter of 1000 mm) or increased to 1100 mm for even better distribution accuracy.
Increased wear and corrosion resistance
The entire structure is finished with a high-quality KTL and powder surface coating. The steel used for the hopper floor is even more wear-resistant than in the current models.
Reduced cleaning work, prevention of dirt deposits
The first thing you notice at the front is the narrow drawbar on all models, which offers little space for dirt deposits and also significantly increases the maneuverability of the vehicle combination.nbsp;
The body is completely self-supporting on all models, requires no additional subframe, and is open at the bottom. The XPERT models are easily accessible from below and can be cleaned easily and with little effort after use. This design is particularly suitable for spreaders with a total weight of 18 tons or more, which have not yet been available on the market.
The mudguards are steeper than on current models, also have a KTL and powder coating and are therefore very smooth. The mudguards reliably prevent larger pieces of material from sticking.
The contours of the side walls are also designed in such a way that there are no surfaces on which deposits can form.
The narrow LED lights are mounted above the spreading mechanism. Falling spreading material cannot remain on or in front of the lights. This also increases road safety.
The round protection device against jamming also offers little grip for material deposits.
Simplified maintenance and servicing
For easier maintenance, lubrication points have been cleverly grouped together so that they are now located in just a few places.
All XPERT models are equipped as standard with a low-maintenance, smooth-running cardan drive.
Both the hydraulic lines and the cables are uniformly, neatly, and easily accessible.
The steering block is mounted on the front right in the direction of travel on all models.
Reliable LED lighting is built into the XPERT series as standard.
Increased comfort and safety
The ISOBUS-TIM option is completely new for spreaders: the mounted implement controls the tractor. There are three different components, some of which can also be combined:
- TIM – SpeedControl: adjustment of the spreading quantity by different driving speeds of the tractor, while maintaining the same transport floor speed (= constant spreading pattern)
- TIM – PTOControl: switching the PTO on/off, linked to the transport speed; control of the PTO speed depending on the working width; automatic deactivation of the PTO if the spreading discs or spreading rollers become blocked
- TIM – HydraulicControl: operation without control block via the tractor's hydraulic valves with an ISOBUS terminal
In terms of comfort, there is also electronic forced steering without a drawbar encoder. "Just hitch up and drive" is the motto here. There is no need to adjust cylinders or steering rods, as is the case with conventional hydraulic or electronic forced steering systems. This is because no additional elements are installed. This also increases the maneuverability of the vehicle combination.
A removable storage box can be added as an option, located at the front left in the direction of travel. The storage box can be used for wear parts, tools, and the like. This means that parts are not left lying around in the tractor cab.
Attention has also been paid to improving the ergonomics of the ladder. The ladder is at an angle when it is folded out for use. This means that the user climbs the ladder as if it were leaning against a wall, rather than vertically as is usually the case. This makes climbing the ladder safer.
All XPERT models are designed to have significantly more ground pressure than current models. This gives the driver greater driving comfort and even better traction.
EU type approval for category R
All XPERT models are certified as standard with full EU type approval for category R in accordance with the official regulation. The CoC (Certificate of Conformity) documents are also included. Type approval is particularly advantageous for resale within the EU, as no national individual approval is required for registration.
All these new features have been packaged in a uniform, modern, and neat design, clearly distinguishing BERGMANN from the competition.
The result of these development efforts is the new BERGMANN XPERT series, consisting of nine models and six sizes with a permissible total weight between 12,000 and 34,000 kg. The smallest model is the single-axle BERGMANN XPERT 1.13. This is followed by seven tandem models with a permissible total weight of 13,000 to 24,000 kg. The BERGMANN XPERT 6.34 with tridem chassis and a permissible total weight of 34,000 kg is the largest spreader in the new series.
Another new feature is that the distinction between manure spreaders and universal spreaders has been eliminated. Customers can choose between the standard T-Spread disc spreading system and the optional V-Spread wide spreading system for working widths of up to 36 m (depending on the material) and the 2-Spread hybrid spreading system with two vertical spreading rollers for precise distribution at very high capacities.
The tires on the XPERT spreaders have also been further developed. The single-axle model is available with tires up to 800/45 R30.5. The XPERT 1.14, 2.16, and 3.18 models can be equipped with tires up to 710/50 R26.5. The XPERT 3.22, 4.22, and 4.24 are available with wheels up to 800/45 R30.5. The two top models, XPERT 5.24 and 6.34, can even be ordered with the maximum size of 750/60 R30.5.
The first functional model was put into service in the spring of 2023. Since then, other functional models and prototypes of various sizes have also been extensively tested under practical conditions by end customers in Germany and abroad.
In the summer of 2025, the first vehicles from the zero series of the BERGMANN XPERT 4.22, 4.24, and 5.24 were delivered to end customers. The zero series of all other sizes will be launched by the summer of 2026.
The BERGMANN brand will be present at AGRIBEX 2025 at the PACKO AGRI stand in hall 4, stand 4206.
